Council
The Management Council of Club Rainbow comprise entirely of volunteers. They do not receive payment for their services to the charity.
The Council meets up monthly to steer the charity. Individual Council members are in regular contact with the full-time staff at Club Rainbow. Through this, they maintain a dynamic hands-on approach in the day-to-day running of the charity.
Council members also interact regularly with our Rainbow Children and their families. This ensures that they remain aware of the evolving needs of all our beneficiaries.
Gregory Vijayendran, President
Occupation: Partner, Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department specialising in civil and commercial litigation
Why he volunteers: In one sentence, it is more blessed to give than to receive. It is a joy to be part of a mission that has touched and will continue to touch lives in unique ways – whether that of a Rainbow parent needing financial aid, a Rainbow child needing a friend or Rainbow families needing social support. It is also inspiring to see the growth of the charity and the personal growth that the serving Council, Staff and myself have experienced over time through the opportunities and challenges that have come our way.
Eric Teo, Vice-President
Occupation: Operations Manager
Why he volunteers: Primarily, I believe that we should help where we can. It is part of giving back to society and in the process, lending a hand to those needier than us. Having been at CRS for the past few years, it is the friendship and camaraderie among fellow volunteers as well as the smile on a child’s face that keeps me going.
Edna Sim, Honorary Secretary

Why she volunteers: I volunteer with CRS because I would like to use whatever little talent I have to help those who courageously fighting to live life to the fullest.
Adeline Goh, Asst Honorary Secretary

Why she volunteers: Suffering from childhood asthma from pre-school to teens, I spent most of my time at home and have a pretty unmemorable childhood. Hence now, I want to bring good growing-up memories to our beneficiaries, beyond their medical visits. Just a simple mission – To help them build a sweet, memorable childhood.
Chua Bee Geok, Honorary Treasurer

Why she volunteers: it is a great opportunity to work with charitable individuals passionate about helping Club Rainbow to deliver compassionate relevant services to the beneficiaries, lift the dark cloud and reveal the rainbow.
Dr Chiou Fang Kuan, Medical Director
Occupation: Paediatrician, KK Hospital
Why he volunteers: In my clinical work I have been treating children with chronic diseases, providing medical treatment and advice to them and their families. My involvement with Club Rainbow has given me a deeper insight to how these children face up to the challenges of their medical conditions, and continue to grow and lead fulfilling lives. Their stories inspire me and make me a better doctor and person. It is an honour for me to be part of this charity whose commitment is to render holistic assistance and support to these amazing children and their families.
Dr Sashi Kumar, Medical Director
Occupation: Paediatrician, KK Hospital
Why he volunteers: I first got involved with Club Rainbow as a medical volunteer in Camp Rainbow 2008, and this first contact opened up my mind to seeing how much more I could be doing outside my daily job as a doctor. Being part of Club Rainbow has given me this unique opportunity to work with so many other kids and families and to do my bit for the society.
Neo Ker Ting, Compliance Director
Occupation: Compliance Manager
Why she volunteers: I have personally benefited and gained a lot of satisfaction from previous overseas volunteer expeditions. I want to continue volunteering. I am happy to be part of this big family who is passionate about helping the Club Rainbow children.
Karen Tan, Fund-Raising Director
Occupation: Head of Treasury, Private Banking, ABN AMRO Bank N.V.
Why she volunteers: I have two healthy and happy daughters and can appreciate the good fortune of being blessed with healthy children. It was my personal vision to contribute to children in the community. I volunteered for Club Rainbow by chance in 1999 for an adhoc project. The experience I had was so humbling and satisfying that I decided to be a member of council to contribute more.
As I watch Club Rainbow children and their families courageously face up to the challenges of their ailments, resolutely staying strong and firm in overcoming their adversity, they are my inspiration and encouragement. I learn not take things for granted in life and to count my blessings every day. As long as I can contribute in any way, I want to support these children to have a better tomorrow.

I have been working with kids for as long as I can remember but nothing beats working with CRS kids. They are a source of strength and an inspiration to me and I know that along the way I will learn a thing or two from them.

Clement Goh, Personnel Director
Occupation: Managing Director – South Asia, Equinix
Why he volunteers: I volunteer because I can and I should. I have received many blessings in my life, especially my 3 healthy and active daughters. It is my wish that I can share my blessings. I have started as a donor to Club Rainbow but recently felt that I should contribute more as a council member. I look forward to use whatever skills I have to make the life a little better for both the kids in need and their parents.
Dr Darryl Lim, Council Member
Occupation: Consultant Paediatrician, Kinder Clinic
Why he volunteers: As a doctor, I have treated these kids in hospital and I have seen first-hand how much they suffer as a result of their medical conditions. By volunteering my services, I am able to apply my training and skills to help these families in various aspects; by my knowledge with them, especially via our support groups, or even just by providing medical coverage as they participate in our many activities or excursions. Most of all, Club Rainbow activities have allowed me to interact with the kids when they are not acutely ill in hospital. Over the course of time, I have befriended many of their families and have the opportunity to know them better on a more personal basis!
Dr Janice Wong, Council Member
Occupation: Consultant Paediatrician, Special interest in Paediatric Neurology, Thomson Paediatric Centre, Thomson Medical Centre
Why she volunteers: As a paediatrician at KK Hospital, I see children with chronic illnesses daily. However, most of the time, they are in hospital for treatment and are too ill to interact. When I volunteered at Camp Sunshine in 2002 as a medical doctor, I was elated by how these children cope with their illnesses and were able to enjoy themselves. I then wanted to do more for these children and their families to cope with their illness with the best medical education and support.
