Touch hearts… be a volunteer

Looking after children or volunteering your expertise to help Club Rainbow can be a highly rewarding experience. However being a volunteer requires a high degree of commitment in terms of your time and energy. The children will look to you to be a friend and mentor while this charity will depend on you to help us carry out our various programmes. We hope in signing up as a volunteer, you are ready for this commitment. On our part, Club Rainbow will guide you along and offer you whatever help we can. Together we can make a difference!

Volunteer Interests

Befriender (Must be 21 & above)

I am interested to be a Befriender

As a befriender you will be paired with a Rainbow Child. You are required to meet face-to-face with the child at least once a month. Befrienders are encouraged to keep in touch with the child between face-to-face meetings. This could be through emails, SMS, telephone calls and sending cards for special occasions. You need to commit to a minimum of two years. Training will be provided.

Volunteer Tutor (Must be 21 & above)

I am interested to be a volunteer tutor

Many children at Club Rainbow miss lessons because they require treatment in hospital. Others tend to fall ill more often than their classmates. To help these children catch up with the lessons they had missed, we need volunteer tutors to help them. The minimum age for volunteer tutors is 21. You would need to commit to teaching for one academic year with a minimum of 1.5 hours of tutoring a week.
