To the children of Club Rainbow:
I salute your courage and determination to want to live life to the fullest. The difficulties you go through every day of your life makes me realise that my struggles in life are nothing compared to yours. Your positive outlook in life puts to shame able-bodied people who often whine and complain about trivial matters.

Often materialism and greed prevent many from opening their hearts and their eyes to the plight of less fortunate. You guys have certainly opened my eyes now. I wish each and every one of you brave soldiers all the best in life and continue to fight. I pray that a miracle will happen.

    Regards,
    Sabeena

The courage and perseverance shown by your Rainbow Children and the families are truly an inspiration to all of us. All too often we in Singapore tend grumble at the slightest inconvenience and we forget to count our many blessings. So children, continue to soldier on. Keep the faith and believe in yourselves.

Each one of you is special. Our thoughts and best wishes are with you always.

A Poem for the Rainbow Children….

    Life it seems
    Has been unfair
    Especially to the less fortunate

    Why oh why
    Please tell me
Why it has to be me

    I feel weak
    I need medication
I need to see the doctor every other day

    I want to go outside
    I want to be active
I want to be like the rest of the kids

    When oh when
    Will I be cured
From these cruel monsters that is ravaging my body…

    – Aunty Eileen, a volunteer

We all go through ups and downs. Sing and enjoy the scenery when you are ‘up’.

When you are ‘down’… look up! May the thoughts of others thinking about you, fill your days with sunshine.

    Dear kids …

Someone once told me that in times of adversity or when you’re feeling down, struggle is an opportunity.

Remember the rainbow after a heavy rain? That is the opportunity to feel the love from your parents, siblings,

doctors and nurses, relatives and friends!

    – Bernadette

There is always a reason for everything. Life is a road of tests and challenges. Your path of life is much harder to walk but you will emerge as the eventual winner.

Please feel free to write words of encouragement for our beneficiaries. When you encourage our kids, you are giving them a reason to pursue their goals or dreams. When the opportunity to shine comes their way, they will have the confidence to improve and succeed. Encouragement is extremely important because it is life-altering; not only for the person who gets it but also for the one who gives it. Thank you.
