OVER 320 FAMILY MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN THIS ANNUAL EVENT TO CELEBRATE THE EVERYDAY HEROES IN THE LIVES OF OUR BENEFICIARIES

Celebrating Heroes 2016 witnessed several firsts as Club Rainbow continually embarks on new ways to celebrate the everyday heroes who made a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries.

Held for the first time in Sentosa, caregivers and parents exercised their creativity in a mosaic box making workshop followed by relaxation sessions of massage by Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped and relaxation exercises.  Concurrently, beneficiaries and their siblings, accompanied by volunteer befrienders enjoyed their time at KidZania, which provided respite moments for the caregivers.  For the first time, Club Rainbow collaborated with volunteer leaders from Singapore Polytechnic from conceptualisation to execution of the event.  Around 100 volunteers turning up on the event day after a two-day intensive training and briefing to support the event as befrienders and helpers.  The event concluded with an emotionally-charged Exemplary Caregivers' Award, where the four awardees and an inaugural special award recipient shared their experiences and how they overcame challenges to let the other caregivers in the audience know that they are not alone in their journey.
