Following its success in 2012, Ride for Rainbows is back for the 4th consecutive year.
The event was scheduled for 9 and 10 October 2015 in conjunction with Children's Day. It is symbolic that on this day, we celebrate the resilience and hope of the Rainbow families whose children are suffering from major chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses. Through the process of raising funds for these families, we hope that our riders will spread the cause of Club Rainbow and the work that we do to support them.
For the first time this year, the event started off with a Ride for Rainbows Carnival at The Cube @ Asia Square. The beneficiaries and their families enjoyed themselves thoroughly at the sports-themed game booths and also filled their stomachs with sumptuous food.
The riders arrived shortly after to prepare themselves for the overnight ride. After some catching up with old friends and making new ones, the riders were flagged off by the Guest-of-Honour, Mr Gan Kim Yong. Minister for Health at the stroke of midnight. Close to 300 riders persevered to complete rides between 60 km to 150 km around the island to raise $650,000 for the beneficiaries and their families!
