This Mother’s Day, Club Rainbow (Singapore) celebrates the strength, love, and resilience of all mothers, especially those caring for children with chronic illnesses. Jeslyn Toh, a dedicated caregiver and mother to Kaelyn Koo, shares her journey, challenges, and moments of joy in motherhood.
Jeslyn has been a pillar of support for her daughter, Kaelyn, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since 2019, Club Rainbow has been a part of their journey, providing essential physiotherapy and speech therapy services. Beyond Kaelyn’s medical needs, the organisation has also been a source of emotional and mental support for Jeslyn, offering guidance and encouragement through the challenges of caregiving.
Balancing caregiving responsibilities with personal well-being is no easy task – Jeslyn understands the importance of self-care and makes it a point to take breaks when needed. Whether it’s visiting a cafe or enjoying a karaoke session, these little moments help her recharge and navigate the daily demands of caregiving with renewed energy. She firmly believes that personal time is essential for caregivers to continue providing the best for their children.
For Jeslyn, Mother’s Day is another day filled with her usual caregiving duties. However, small gestures, like a hug or a simple thank-you card, mean the world to her. The bond she shares with Kaelyn is beautifully captured in the selfies they take together, each photo serving as a cherished memory of their journey.
Jeslyn’s words of encouragement to all mothers and caregivers this Mother’s Day are filled with warmth and strength:
“To all the beautiful and great mothers out there, you have been amazing! Always find some time for yourselves to recharge before starting your daily routines again. Let us all become stronger, and may our children be blessed with good health, growing stronger every day through our love and hard work. Happy Mother’s Day!”
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we honour the unwavering dedication of mothers like Jeslyn. Their resilience, love, and sacrifices make a world of difference in their children’s lives. Club Rainbow (Singapore) remains committed to standing by these incredible mothers, providing support every step of the way.
