Reach for Rainbow 2026 - Pedalling with Purpose: Coca-Cola’s Journey of Giving Back Through Reach for Rainbow
For Coca-Cola, creating moments of connection goes beyond sharing refreshing beverages — it is also about bringing people together and making a positive difference in the communities they are part of.
With a presence in Singapore for over 90 years, Coca-Cola has grown alongside generations of Singaporeans, becoming part of everyday moments and celebrations. Beyond its role as a beverage company, Coca-Cola continues to support meaningful causes, encourage sustainability and inspire collective action through initiatives that bring people together.
One such initiative is Acts of Kindness, an employee-led group formed in 2018 by colleagues who share a passion for an active lifestyle and a desire to give back beyond their daily work. Bringing together team members across departments including Sales, Trade Marketing and Human Resources, the group has become a platform for colleagues to bond, stay active and create meaningful impact together.
Their journey with Club Rainbow (Singapore) began through a personal connection from Damien Goh, the leader of the Acts of Kindness team. Having first learned about Club Rainbow during his university days in 2000, the organisation’s mission of providing holistic support for children with chronic illnesses and their families remained close to his heart.
When the opportunity to participate in Ride for Rainbows — now known as Reach for Rainbow — came along in 2018, it felt like the perfect way to combine a shared passion with a meaningful cause.
“We used to regularly organise casual night cycling sessions after work to unwind and bond. When one of our colleagues shared about Ride for Rainbows, we instantly knew it was the perfect avenue to channel our cross-departmental camaraderie into a meaningful cause,” shared the Coca-Cola team.
Since then, Coca-Cola has been a consistent supporter of Reach for Rainbow, participating every year since 2018. What began as a cycling activity among colleagues grew into an annual commitment to stand alongside children with chronic illnesses and their families.
Over the years, their experiences with the event have evolved alongside the changing times. From cycling together as a large group on the roads during the physical editions in 2018 and 2019, to taking part virtually during the COVID-19 period through individual rides, the team continued to show up with the same spirit of resilience and purpose.
For Coca-Cola, the most memorable moments have always come from the shared experiences — riding together as a team, encouraging one another through challenges and celebrating each milestone along the way.
“Nothing beats the actual camaraderie of a physical gathering, checking in on each other and sharing that post-ride exhaustion. It is those real-life, shared milestones that truly bond our cross-departmental team and make the event so special.”
The journey has not always been without challenges. From navigating safety restrictions during the pandemic to unexpected weather conditions such as haze and heavy rain, the team remained committed. Through encouragement and teamwork, they pushed through every obstacle together.
Beyond the event itself, Reach for Rainbow has also strengthened Coca-Cola’s connection with Club Rainbow. As colleagues learned more about the organisation’s work and the impact it creates for children with chronic illnesses, the cause became more personal and relatable — inspiring more employees to be part of the journey.
For Coca-Cola, corporate giving initiatives like Reach for Rainbow serve as a reminder that meaningful change can begin with simple acts of coming together.
“Through programmes such as Reach for Rainbow, employees are able to turn shared activities into collective impact for a meaningful cause. It helps ground us, reminding us of the wider community we are part of, and why coming together as colleagues can extend far beyond the workplace.”
To other corporates considering joining Reach for Rainbow, Coca-Cola hopes they will take the opportunity to experience the impact for themselves.
“On the surface, it is a shared activity, but over time it naturally builds a deeper sense of connection among colleagues, while also creating a more personal link to the cause itself. It is a meaningful way to come together and contribute to supporting children with chronic illnesses and their families.”
As Reach for Rainbow 2026 continues to bring communities together, Coca-Cola’s journey is a reminder that every step, every ride and every act of support can help create brighter possibilities for children and families on their journey with chronic illnesses.
